-REVIEW-

"Book design means communicating clearly through a visually captivating image, one that captures a book's essence and helps the book leap off the shelves and into a reader's hands." Emily Mahon For someone who has been thinking of breaking into the industry of designing book covers, this has been incredibly helpful to my goal. I'm in the process of self studying all forms of art that I can possibly get my hands on; calligraphy, lettering, digital painting to name a few, this book has been an essential read. I realized how there is no specific process to designing. Some designers have gone through lengths of reading the entire book, and some approaching it differently. Others work better on time pressure, while others prefer to set a scheduled list of their designing process. It was a relief to see that my own approach as a designer is both unique and no different to how other designers work. And really, what is most important is voicing out through artwork what the author of the book wishes to showcase to her audience. I have learned so much from this book and I will definitely be on the look out for a print copy at my local bookstore.
